HELLO!
Here is my newly repaired UFO.
This UFO looks to me very lampo style when I see the fotos so I say hey, buy it, but when I got it I see that it was unlabeled.
Only a small "made in taiwan" sticker on it.
Mmmh?
I see that there are a few minor damages to repair, the stirrup was bended on one side, a carbon brush need to be replaced and the shaft of the headmotor was very unsteady.
The first two are done quickly but the motor need some time. First it was'nt easy to open. Then I took the gear out and clean it all from the old grease.
Fitting it together it stays unsteady. Mmmmh again. A neighbour take alook at it and see that a small flange sleve had moved upward on the shaft. Take him back to his place and the shaft was nearly stable. Fine!
Then I reasembled the parts and voila, it runs!
Here is a quick and dirty vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBaxyF0Ln3g
As far I can find out with a little help from switzerland this UFO is made in the early nineties in Taiwan by superstar lighting inc.. It was in size and function a real classic UFO. The motors are a bit uncommon in their relative speeds as the head motor runs faster than the base mototr. Therefore you cant create that stop movement when turning the head motor downwards but running all three motors give the UFO a very dynamic movement anyway.
I am glad to own it.
I need to made a controller for it.
